Pet Wellness Plans in Webster

Just like the two-legged members of your family, your pet should receive a wellness exam at least once a year as a means of preventive care. Cat and dog exams allow the doctors at Advanced Pet Care of Clear Lake to determine if your pet is healthy and make recommendations for treatment or advanced diagnostics, if necessary. We offer pet wellness plans, which include:

  • Cat and dog exams
  • Pet vaccinations
  • Parasite control

What to Expect During Your Pet’s First Visit

Wellness Exam:
Whether your pet is a juvenile or senior pet, the first wellness exam at our hospital consists of a comprehensive, nose-to-tail assessment of the body. This also includes a temperature and weight check. We encourage you to discuss any abnormalities that you've noticed or concerns you have about your pet, whether they're related to appearance, diet, or behavior, during this visit.

Pet Vaccinations:
During the wellness exam, we typically determine if your pet's vaccinations need to be updated. Vaccines protect against diseases and viruses, such as rabies, leptospirosis, and Bordetella, so it's important that they be updated regularly. We base vaccination schedules on your pet's species, age, and lifestyle.

Parasite Control:
Another important component of your pet's wellness visit and preventive care is parasite control. After the exam, we can discuss our recommendations for parasite preventives to protect your pet against fleas, ticks, heartworms, and other parasites and vectors.

Puppy Care

If you recently brought home a new puppy, congratulations on the new addition to the family! We want your four-legged friend to get started on the right paw, which is why we have provided a document of Puppy FAQs, which address over a dozen topics, including vaccines, food, and parasite preventives.
